Are we the right fit
for your growing company?
Is Kuzneski Insurance Group the right fit for you?
We're not right for everyone.
Your decision on which broker or advisor to hire will be a big factor in the long term success or failure of your insurance and HR programs. Sometimes firms just don't fit well with each other, due to corporate culture differences, size mismatches, or incompatible approaches to process. Since we want to set you up for success, we are providing you with answers to questions that, in our experience, will help you make the right decision for your unique company and situation.
Below are 7 questions that will help you more clearly understand our overall approach to insurance and HR. The answers should help you decide whether or not we are the right fit for you. Regardless of your decision, please consider us a resource for you now and in the future.
- What's the difference between an advisor and a broker? Which are you?
- Will you help us develop a strategy and roadmap for our insurance and HR programs?
- Does the size of my company matter? I've heard some advisors don't work with small companies.
- We plan on growing a lot! Can you advise and support us during our growth?
- What's your team like? Will they be a good cultural fit for us?
- Insurance and HR is new to me. Will you teach me the basics?
- Why do you offer so many types of insurance and HR solutions? Can't you just focus on one thing like most insurance brokers?
Let's get started.
"What's the difference between an advisor and a broker? Which are you?"
It's like chess versus checkers, and we're playing chess.
We think it's an important distinction. Most traditional brokers are like checkers players, who focus on short term moves with simple rules and pieces (no offense meant, checkers players - it's just an analogy). They tend to be price and transaction oriented, push their go-to products, and utilize sales models that reward their salespeople to sell - even if it's not always the right thing for you.
Advisors (like us) are still able to "broker" your insurances for you, but we also look at the big picture and help you develop a long term strategy and roadmap to achieve it. We take a more holistic approach to your insurance and HR challenges, and explore innovative solutions that require more effort and thought. Many of us avoid commission-based sales models and reward our team for keeping you happy, not for pushing products on you before you need them.
Checkmate.
"Will you help us develop a strategy and roadmap for our insurance and HR programs?"
Strategy and roadmaps are built into everything we do.
There's so much for you to think about when you're building your insurance and HR programs: "How do all the parts fit together? What had to be done yesterday? What can wait until tomorrow? How will I pay for everything?"
It can be overwhelming at times, and if you're not careful, important things can slip through the cracks!
That's why you need a strategy, and a roadmap to guide you. We will help you:
- develop a customized Strategic Roadmap for your insurance and HR solutions.
- keep everyone on the same page through periodic Strategic Business Reviews.
- monitor alignment between your C-level team members through our C4i/e assessment tool.
- bring a board member/investor perspective to your insurance and HR programs. Check out our leadership team and their experiences.
You'll sleep better at night if you know where you're going and have a roadmap to get there.
"Does the size of my company matter? I've heard some advisors don't work with small companies."
Size doesn't matter to us. Big or small, we've got you covered.
Whether your company is a 1 person startup in R&D mode, or has 200 employees on its way to 400, if you have a growth mentality, then we have the expertise and processes to support you. Full disclosure: if you are over 1,000 employees, then we probably aren't going to be the right fit for you, unless it's for a specific solution to a specific need where we have expertise.
So why do some advisors avoid smaller companies? It has to do with incompatibility between what it takes to meet your current needs, and the advisor's:
- product / service mix
- expertise and compensation structure
- business model and overall goals.
- willingness to teach you the basics when you are just getting started
Sometimes it's like oil and water - you're just not going to mix well with them.
We have made the choice to work with even the smallest growth companies, because our business model and goals enable us to do so, and we enjoy rolling up our sleeves and being a part of your journey from the very beginning.
We are willing to make the bet that you will succeed!
"We plan on growing a lot! Can you advise and support us during our growth?"
You bet! We've been there before so we know what to expect, even if you don't.
We love working with growing companies. It's an exciting and challenging contrast to the sometimes less exciting (some might even think boring) world of insurance and HR.
We've built our business to support the growth of yours, based on 50+ years of experience. It's baked into our DNA, from our processes to our culture. In fact our logo represents the interconnectedness of processes, solutions and teams - all working together in a direction of growth.
"What's your team like? Will they be a good cultural fit for us?"
We think our team is amazing! But perhaps we are a bit biased.
As to whether they are a good cultural fit for you, we'll let you be the judge of that. Learn more about our team and culture by exploring our About Us page and also our Careers page.

As a serial entrepreneur, I know the value of partners you can trust. I have worked with the Kuzneski Insurance Group for over 15 years and have always been impressed by the quality of their services and their team. "Insurance and HR is new to me. Will you teach me the basics?"
Absolutely! It's one of our favorite things to do (seriously).
You are not alone. We have helped hundreds of first time entrepreneurs and others who got stuck learning insurance and HR while on the job. It's like building an airplane while trying to fly it at the same time...not much fun and bound to crash.

"Why do you offer so many types of insurance and HR solutions? Can't you just focus on one thing like most insurance brokers?"
It would certainly be easier ... and we don't help with everything.
If you're a growing company, you will need help with everything from legal advice to tax planning. We won't be of much help in those areas (see, we don't help with everything), although we are happy to provide you with some free opinions and our usual disclaimer: "We are not able to practice law or give tax advice."
Many advisors (and most traditional brokers) refuse to think holistically about the solutions needed by companies like yours...it's just too hard. Since we always try to "do what's best for the client", we offer a variety of solutions to address the wide range of insurance and HR challenges you will encounter as you grow, such as:
- finding the right group health insurance for your company, that's affordable in the long run, and that also attracts and retains the top talent you need to grow.
- developing a company culture to ensure you get the right people on "your bus" and keep them all moving in the same direction.
- installing the right systems to manage payroll and employee-related information that increases efficiency and reduces errors.
- protecting your company financially in case bad things happen to you like a data breach of your client's private information, or an employee discrimination lawsuit against management.
Many of these issues are interrelated, so you have to approach them that way for the best results.
