Medicare Annual Election Period Coming Soon

Here is the Who, What, Why, Where and When of the Medicare Annual Election Period.

Are you 65 or older? Do you have a Medicare policy? If so, then your Annual Coordinated Election Period is coming soon - October 15 to December 7, to be exact. What is the Annual Coordinated Election Period? If you currently have Medicare, this is the only time of the year that you can switch plans. If you choose to change your plan during the election period, your current plan will run until December 31, 2015 and the new plan will take effect January 1, 2016.

Why would someone need to change their plan?  Pricing is a big reason, or maybe your plan only covers you within your state and you want to start traveling or spending winters in the sun; those are just a couple of reasons why someone may want to look at other options.

If you aren't 65 yet, this doesn't affect you.  However, the date you need to be aware of is 3 months prior to your 65th birthday. That's when you can apply for Medicare and not a second sooner!

If you aren't sure if your plan is the best one for you, or you're getting close to that 65th birthday, let us know - we can help you look at all of your options.

Remember to mark your calendars - October 15th to December 7th will be here before we know it!

We do not offer every plan available in your area. Any information we provide is limited to those plans we do offer in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE to get information on all of your options.
